The National Nutrition Research Roadmap: Part 3
The National Nutrition Research Roadmap: Behavioral Science of Eating Habits (Part 3)
Wednesday, February 1, 2017
3:00 pm – 4:00 pm (ET)
Part 3 of a four-part webinar series focusing on the questions and topics in the National Nutrition Research Roadmap 2016‒2021: Advancing Nutrition Research to Improve and Sustain Health
The Interagency Committee on Human Nutrition Research developed the National Nutrition Research Roadmap to identify human nutrition research gaps and opportunities that should be addressed within the next five to ten years. This ASN webinar series will look at current human nutrition research opportunities offered by federal agencies based on the Roadmap.
The third webinar will highlight research gaps and opportunities related to the behavioral science of eating habits, in relation to the following topics highlighted by the Roadmap: How can we more effectively characterize the interactions among the demographic, behavioral, lifestyle, social, cultural, economic, occupational, and environmental factors that influence eating choices? How can basic biobehavioral science be applied to better understand eating behaviors? By the end of this program, attendees will understand research gaps and opportunities, including the open funding opportunity announcements (FOAs), training opportunities, and research resources related to the behavioral science of eating habits, as found in the National Nutrition Research Roadmap. Participants will have time to ask the speakers questions following the presentations.
