Mary Pat Cornett was awarded the prestigious honor by the Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA) Foundation at their awards ceremony held March 24, 2022.
Rockville, MD—April 6, 2022 – The American Society for Nutrition’s (ASN) Chief Strategy and Operations Officer, Mary Pat Cornett, CAE, CMP, was named Digital Experience Strategist of the Year by the PCMA Foundation. She received the honor at the Foundation’s Visionary Awards event, where members of the professional convention and meetings industry are awarded for significant contributions to their organizations.
“We are fortunate and proud to have Mary Pat lead our meetings team,” said ASN Chief Executive Officer, John Courtney, PhD. “She and ASN’s dedicated and passionate staff launched our first stand-alone flagship meeting, NUTRITION, in 2018. When the pandemic changed the meetings industry in 2020, it was through her leadership, vision, and resilience that ASN hosted our first and largest virtual meeting with over 30,000 attendees.”
Cornett has been an employee of ASN since 2015, beginning as Vice President of Meetings and International Affairs. She brought with her a wealth of knowledge and experience from leading other professional meetings and events. As Chief Strategy and Operations Officer at ASN, she oversees strategic management, new product development, marketing and communications, and meetings and events.
“This award is not just to honor what Mary Pat and ASN staff have already accomplished, but shines a light on what is to come—including ASN’s NUTRITION 2022 which is a fully re-imagined meeting and education experience for nutrition professionals all over the world,” added Courtney.
PCMA is the world’s largest, most respected, and most recognized network of business events strategists. The Visionary Awards nominees are selected by a panel of their peers in the industry.
